PART 3 OF THE CHIANG MAI / CHIANG RAI TOUR -- golfing at Chiang Mai Highlands

One of the highlights of the trip was a golf outing on our fifth day in the Chiang Mai area. We had the opportunity to play what many consider to be the nicest course in Asia -- i.e. Chiang Mai Highlands. Lee Schmidt is the designer and he designed this course to be his signature. This is the same designer of the course I played earlier in Bangkok -- i.e. Muang Kaew. The family of a student at Sasin are the owners, and he was the reason we were able to get on. Thanks Sam!

We did not get a lot of shots of the course unfortunately, as were using John's ancient camera, ...but the one below accurately captures one of the more impressive holes -- a long par-5 dogleg left with a river running along the left side.

The caddies of Asian golf are clearly one of the best parts. I had seen this before, but this was definitely THE highlight for John. Our girls on this outing were especially friendly, and did a heck of a job chasing John's ball around the course -- HA!

Two days later we were off to Krabi. Posts to follow soon.
